Current Research Interests

As a methodological epidemiologist, my work focuses on advancing and promoting new methodological approaches health researchers and policy analysts can use  to understand the issues affecting the health of populations. These include advanced risk-adjustment techniques for observational research, modeling social and environmental exposures on health outcomes and expanding the role of mixed methodology in epidemiologic inquiry.

Much of my research to date has focused on measuring efficiency, quality and equity within Ontario’s health care system and understanding the ways in which social and environmental determinants produce and reinforce socio-cultural inequalities in health outcomes among populations.
